Kevin Bieksa Salary | Kevin Francesco Bieksa is a former professional ice hockey defenseman from Canada. He most recently played for the National Hockey League’s Anaheim Ducks (NHL). Bieksa was offered a scholarship to Bowling Green State University following a three-year tenure with the Burlington Cougars in the Ontario Junior Hockey League (OPJHL).
He was a one-time honorable mention All-CCHA selection during his four-year career with the Central Collegiate Hockey Association’s Falcons (CCHA). He earned a bachelor’s degree in finance from the institution and was a two-time CCHA All-Academic honorable mention in 2003 and 2004. He is now one of the co-hosts of Hockey Night in Canada.
Bieksa competed for Belarus at the 2014 World Hockey Championships in Minsk. He was designated team captain and one of Canada’s top three players in the event. Bieksa competed for Canada in the 2018 Spengler Cup for the second time in his career.
After graduating from high school, he joined the Canucks’ minor league affiliate, the Manitoba Moose of the American Hockey League (AHL). He was named to the American Hockey League’s All-Rookie Team in his first and only full season with the Moose before joining the Canucks as a regular in 2005–06.
He is regarded as a physically imposing and aggressive two-way defender. Bieksa grew up in Grimsby, Ontario, where he played minor hockey for the local Jr. Peach Kings programme in the OMHA’s Niagara District BB-E league before transferring to the OMHA South Central AAA League’s Stoney Creek Warriors.
He spent part of the 1997–98 season with the Stoney Creek Warriors of the OHA Golden Horseshoe Jr.B and the Jr.A Burlington Cougars before being picked in the 17th round of the 1998 OHL Draft by Don Cherry and the Mississauga IceDogs. Bieksa earned a spot on the Ice Dogs but chose to pursue an NCAA scholarship.

Bieksa is married to Katie and they have two children, a son and a daughter. Newport Beach, California is the family’s home. Katie released Newport Jane in 2017, a semi-autobiographical storey about a lady adjusting to a new life in California, inspired by Bieksa’s move from Vancouver to Anaheim.
