The Snake Diet is a popular fasting plan created by a prominent fasting instructor and makes unsubstantiated health claims. It usually involves long, prolonged fasts interspaced by short, occasionally delicious meals. Even though the Snake Diet can superficially look similar to a typical balanced diet, it’s far more drastic, even re-creating a typical balanced diet as supplementary food.
The diet consists of two phases, a fasting phase and a post-fasting phase. During the first phase of the snake diet, all foods are abstinence and purgative. For this phase, the Snake Diet recommends that you drink nothing but snake juice for two days. You will not be permitted to eat any vegetables or fruits during this time. This period of time is a critical stage in the program. If you fail to pass the test during this time, you will not likely succeed in completing the program.
The second phase of the snake diet involves a second fast. During this time, you will be allowed to eat vegetables and fruits, but you may still have to experiment with purgatives during the course of this time, as mentioned above. You will likely be asked to remove any pre-existing food from your diet at this point. If you are unable to pass the test during the fasting stage, you will likely have to undergo a second fasting period before entering the second stage of the diet. Once again, if you fail during this second stage, you will not likely be successful in finishing the program.
In order to make the program work, you must follow all of its recommendations, such as avoiding all starchy vegetables and fruits as well as anything containing large amounts of sugar, starch, or salt. You should also eliminate foods that contain processed or refined sugars, and starch, such as white rice, potatoes, and sweet potatoes. If you follow all of these recommendations, you should find that your blood sugar levels remain consistently within the normal range throughout the course of the three-phase program. If you continue to experience problems with blood sugar levels after the completion of the diet, you should contact your physician.
Although the snake diet can be effective for those who are suffering from binge eating and/or a disordered eating pattern, it may not be the best plan for people looking to lose a significant amount of weight. Because the diet requires you to eat on a daily basis, it can become difficult to stick to a healthy diet if you are always hungry. For this reason, it is important to use the diet as a tool to help you achieve and maintain a healthy weight. If you are unable to lose the amount of weight you want to, you may find that trying to lose even more weight in the future is difficult.
People who are trying to lose weight, as well as pregnant women, should exercise caution in using the snake diet. The diet requires you to eat only one meal a day and eat one meal in a very short period of time. This can be hard to do if you are working on losing weight or maintaining your current weight. In addition, if you combine the short length of time you have to eat with the amount of food you are allowed to eat, you can put yourself into an unhealthy situation. For this reason, you should consult your doctor before beginning the snake diet, especially if you are pregnant or suffering from a medical condition.
